What is complementary therapy?
Sometimes referred to as ‘alternative or
natural medicine,’ complementary therapy covers a wide range of
therapeutic or preventative heathcare practices that do not
follow conventional medical methods, nor possess any concrete scientific
explanation for their healing and effectiveness. Many complementary therapies
have their roots in ancient civilizations such as those in China, Egypt
and Greece. Acupuncture, homeopathy, massage, reiki, chiropractic and
aromatherapy are all forms of complementary therapy.
